CEO Dr. Leslie McKnight
VP Operations Andre McKnight
Over 25 years of experience in public and organization administration encompassing community health and economic development, stakeholder management, fiscal management, change management, leadership development and program administration. Dr. McKnight has an expertise in internal and environmental scanning to design strategic orientations that result in profitable, impactful, and sustainable ways of doing business with an overall goal of community well-being.
Andre has over 30 years of experience in construction maintenance, logistics, and strategic management. He has been an entrepreneur and owner of multiple businesses since the early 2000’s. Recently he served as a general contractor for American Water Company.


Director Client Services Hannah Barnette
Hannah brings a passion for water customers and utilities. Having served in AMI customer service for both utility and vendor, she brings a powerful depth of experience to Smart Water Scouts. Hannah also knows multiple software platforms and knows how to deliver data to customers in a positive and understanding way.

What do you do?
We analyze water data and contact residents about high usage. Many small utilities can not afford full time staff to review and contact their residents about leaks and abnormal usage. Many large utilities prefer a professional service monitor, contact and log customer outreach. Our experience and specialization make us uniquely positioned to offer the best service and at lower cost.
Who do you serve?
Our services are designed for water utilities aiming to manage conservation. Ultimately, the utility, end customer and community benefit from our services. Water is conserved, customers are well treated, and the utility maximizes its water and AMI resources.
How do you contact residents?
We reach out via the method desired by the utility. Scripts, frequency, and method are discussed in discovery workshops. In some cases, the utility asks for prepared email lists and scripts only and the utility completes the outreach.
Is my data safe?
Absolutely, we handle all data with strict confidentiality. The data is hosted by the utility not by Smart Water Scouts. Our service members use a combination of data secure methods to review and produce deliverables.
Can utility customers reduce their bill?
Yes, our proactive approach will assist customers in reducing and managing their water bills. Depending on the service the water utility choses, we may help communicate about high, usual or continuous usage patterns.
